- Uses raised bed gardens made from recycled composite materials
- Donates produce to local food shelf
- District has a full time garden specialist to assist schools
The garden is in the courtyard located in the center of North Park Elementary. There are two access points into the garden, as well as a water spigot and two electrical outlets. The courtyard is approximately 30ft x 60ft. Another way they are thinking GREEN is that their raised beds are made from recycled composite materials. The landscaping fabric under the mulch is made from recycled pop bottles, and the soil that was put into the garden beds is completely organic.
