Develop a sense of place and enrich your teaching of science, literacy, and more!

Participating educators will gather and document observations and learn about the local:
  • geology
  • biology
  • and cultural history of the St. Croix River and River Valley
Knowledgeable instructors will guide small groups of teachers as they embark on a canoe trip from Interstate State Park near Taylor’s Falls to Osceola Landing. Educational programming and discussions at Insterstate State Park before and after the canoe trip will provide methods and resources to help teachers engage their students in field experiences and journaling exercises that focus on not only the St. Croix River but also their local environment and river ways.
Participating teachers receive a Jeffers Journal and are eligible for a class set of Jeffers Journals!
